OFFERED ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (“U.S.”), AGED 18 YEARS OR OLDER.
1. ELIGIBILITY: Discovery Channel’s “My North America” Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is open to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers and directors of Discovery Communications, LLC ("Sponsor"), G Adventures, Promotion Mechanics, Inc. (“Promotion Administrator”), their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, TV production partners, advertising agencies, promotional suppliers (collectively, "Sweepstakes Entities") and the immediate family members (spouses and parents, children and siblings and their spouses, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such individuals are not eligible. All applicable federal, state, and local rules apply. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. PROGRAM DATES: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on December 17, 2012 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on January 14, 2013 (“Sweepstakes Period”).

TO ENTER: To receive one entry into the Sweepstakes, visit the Discovery Channel Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryChannel during the Sweepstakes Period and click on the “My North America” tab. You will first be asked to cast a vote in Discovery Channel’s Top 25 Destinations Poll. You will then be taken to the Sweepstakes entry page. Follow the instructions to complete and submit the entry form so that it is received by the Sponsor's server by 11:59:59 PM ET on January 14, 2013. Limit one entry per person/email address per day.
Entrants must be logged onto Facebook to enter. To become a Registered User of Facebook, entrant must register for an account and agree to Facebook’s statement of Rights and Responsibilities set forth at https://www.facebook.com/terms.php. Facebook membership is free.
As part of the Sweepstakes entry process, entrants must indicate that they agree to be bound by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”). Any information collected from the Sweepstakes shall be used only in a manner consistent with the consent given by the entrants at the time of entry, with these Official Rules, and with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy found at http://dsc.discovery.com/utilities/about/privacypolicy.html.
4. RANDOM DRAWING – PRIZES – ODDS OF WINNING: On or about January 18, 2013, the Promotion Administrator, an independent judging organization, will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received to award the following prizes:
One (1) Grand Prize: Discovery Adventures Historic Parks of the American Southwest for the winner and one guest (http://www.discoveryadventures.com/trips/historic-parks-of-the-american- southwest/NUSWD/2013/). Prize consists of round trip coach air travel for two people from a major commercial airport near winner’s residence (as determined by Sponsor) to Las Vegas, Nevada; double-occupancy accommodations for eleven (11) nights in comfort hotels/motels; entrance fees to all National Parks with guided hiking and walking excursions; and some breakfasts and lunches. responsibility. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) $9,000.00. Actual value will be determined by winner's residence and seasonal rates. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions. Air carriers, hotels and other transportation will be selected by Sponsor. Services of a professional travel specialist who will coordinate and book all travel components are included. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions; blackout dates may apply. Travel must be booked by April 30, 2013 and travel completed by October 31, 2013 or prize will be forfeited in its entirety.
Discovery Adventures reserves the right to substitute tours for operational resources. In the event that trip is cancelled by Discovery Adventures for any reason, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to award the cash alternative prize of $5,000 as complete and final satisfaction for the prize trip or to offer the winner a trip to a different destination. Please note that as a prize winner, you may only book onto departures that are guaranteed to depart and have reached their minimum participant requirements. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary, must comply with all security requirements and are solely responsible for obtaining their respective travel insurance and travel documents. Additional releases and qualifications may be imposed by activity providers. Grand Prize winner’s guest, who must be 18 years of age or older or 12 years of age or older if accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older, must complete a liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents.
Twenty (20) First Prizes, each a North America coffee table book, ARV $30.
Limit one (1) prize per person. No prize transfer or cash redemption permitted. No prize substitution, in whole or in part, except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, safety or security considerations, or any other reason as solely determined by Sponsor, in which case a prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded.
Odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible entries received.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified by email, phone, postal mail and/or express mail at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Inability to contact a potential winner or the return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in the prize being forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries. Potential Grand Prize winner will be required to complete, sign, have notarized and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and (where legal) a publicity release, which must be returned within time period specified in notification letter or an alternate winner may be selected. Grand Prize winner’s guest (or a parent/legal guardian if guest is a minor) will be required to complete and return a notarized liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents. Minimum age to travel is 12 when accompanied by a guardian 21 or older. By accepting the Grand Prize, the winner and his/her guest represent that they understand that travel, whether by plane, automobile, or other conveyance, or by foot, and in the air, contains some inherent element of risk of accident, illness, injury, loss or death, which may be caused by negligence, forces of nature, or other agencies, known or unknown. Grand Prize winner and his/her guest represent that they recognize that such risks may be present at any time before, during and after the trip. In order to be considered the Grand Prize winner and partake of the enjoyment of this trip, Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must be willing to accept the risk, and to confirm their acceptance to such risk in writing at Sponsor's request.
GENERAL: Expenses not specified and any and all tax liability, whether local, state or federal, are winner’s responsibility. By participating, entrants agree [a] to these rules and decisions of Sponsor and Promotion Administrator which shall be final in all respects relating to this sweepstakes; [b] to release, discharge, indemnify and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, Discovery

Communications, LLC, Facebook, and all of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives (individually and collectively “Releasees”) from any liability or responsibility whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages (whether due to negligence or otherwise) of any kind (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss of or destruction of property), arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes or from their acceptance, possession , use or misuse of any prize, or participation in the Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes related activity; and if a winner, [c] to permit Sweepstakes Entities to use his/her name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, voice likeness and city and state address for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in all media, in perpetuity, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use upon request. Releasees and the officers, directors and employees of each are not responsible for and shall not be liable for [a] any telecast, cable or telephone malfunctions, human error, satellite transmission failures, or delayed telecasts or preemption of or the failure of a cable affiliate to televise Discovery Channel or any affiliated Sponsor network in all or any parts of the United States; [b] electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation, server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries; [c] failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions; [d] late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries or postage-due mail; or [e] any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the sweepstakes or any portion thereof should virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the promotion, in which case prize will be awarded via a random drawing from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation. Internet entry must be made by the entrant only at the authorized web site address of https://www.facebook.com/DiscoveryChannel. Entries may not be made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other Internet website or e-mail address, including but not limited to commercial sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering service sites. Any winner who enters by any of the methods described above will be disqualified and an alternate winner selected. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time in the event it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these Official Rules. This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, with jurisdiction and venue in Montgomery County, Maryland, and all claims must be resolved in the courts of Montgomery County, Maryland.
